Here are the steps to take to properly don and remove disposable gloves.

How to Don Gloves

1. Clean your hands thoroughly.

Before touching the gloves, wash your hands with soap and water. Make sure to rub your hands together for at least 20 seconds while washing. Thoroughly dry your hands.

2. Putting on the first glove.

With your nondominant hand, pick up the glove by pinching the inside and outside of the cuff. Be careful to touch as little of the outside of the glove as possible. Let the glove hang with the fingers pointing downward. Carefully slide your dominant hand into the glove. Do not adjust the glove’s position on your hand until the other glove is on.

3. Putting on the second glove.

Repeat the same process with the other hand. 

4. Check the gloves for rips or tears.

Ensure that there are no rips or tears in the gloves. If you see any, remove the gloves and start again.

How to Remove Gloves

1. Taking off the first glove.

Pinch the glove about an inch or two down from the cuff. Peel downwards, away from the wrist, turning the glove inside out until it is fully removed. The glove should be fully inside out by the end of removal.

2. Taking off the second glove.

With the gloveless hand, slide your fingers under the cuff of the glove. Be careful not to touch the outside of the glove. Again, peel downwards away from the wrist until the glove is fully removed. Do not touch the outside of the glove. Both gloves should be fully inside out by the end of removal for your protection.

3. Disposal.

Dispose of both gloves in a proper bin. The correct bin will vary depending on your work.

Removing Kinesiology Tape

When removing kinesiology tape, make sure to remove it in the direction of hair growth to avoid pulling the hair. If the tape is tough to remove, you may need to loosen it with baby oil or vegetable oil for an easier removal.
